MICROPARK highlights and benefits
Downstream stoppages in a perfect binding
or combined perfect binding/casing in line will cause the binder
to stop: But before it can halt, the binder must complete its
cycle, finishing the binding of all books in its clamps; in other
words, it must be empty.
In such cases there is no other way
than having the books escape through an emergency exit.
Usually
such exits consist of divert conveyors which require, whenever
actuated, a person to take away the books and deposit them provisionally
onto a skid.
After the trimmer re-starts the same person must
re-feed the books to be trimmed onto the conveyor.
All these operations can be accomplished automatically by the
MICROPARK: Depending on format and thickness it will accept
between 35 and 70 books; only when filled up, will it stop the
binder.
Thus the accumulator not only permits the binder to continue
to work but also influences its output: As long as the trimmer
stops are minimal, the binder can produce continuously.
MICRO-MACROPARK characteristics
The MICROPARK accepts one book per
shelf, whereas every MACROPARK shelf takes up one max.
1,200 mm long row of books varying between 2 and 10 books per
row depending on spine length.
The shelves can be switched for book thicknesses from 5 to 35
mm or 35 to 70 mm, resulting in 70 or 35 useable shelves respectively.
